npt Labs, LLC is a socially conscious for-profit think-tank that develops web-driven products and solutions to improve the effectiveness, cost-savings or impact of health & human service organizations.  Oh, and we build other stuff for fun too.

Mission

We build products that help organizations extend and measure their impact through innovative web applications.
PowerOn
PowerOn helps agency overcome the barriers to conducting online counseling and referral sessions by providing:
1. Turn-key website with over 300 pages of content and referrals to local organizations
2. Online Client Management Software to assist counselors to chat, track and evaluate their internet sessions
3. Training and Technical Assistance to stay ahead of the changing impact of technology on public health
PowerOn saves agency staff time and dollars in developing the complex theory, intervention methods, program delivery, marketing, fundraising and evaluation design. Features include:

Website

When you join the PowerOn system, your agency receives a subdomain on poweron.org (like mybrother.poweron.org) which houses 300+ pages of content and referral information for you to use with your client's online.  This helps overcome the costly barrier of creating a new website, keep it up-to-date andstaying on top of new technology trends.

Software

Each PowerOn user on your staff will have access to a set of tools that will help them chat, track and evaluate their online sessions.  This helps standardize your outreach messages and counseling conversations as well as provides a record of your outreach for later review.

Training

We're total tech geeks and keep up on the changing technology so you don't have to.  Every PowerOn licenses comes with four  modules of training, a monthly skill-building webinar and quarterly new feature webinars.  We partner with Public Health Solutions to provide training and you can buy additional training for your staff.  If you're already a whiz, we have self-study modules so you can be up and running in no time.

Fundraising

We're committing to helping you fundraise for your PowerOn program. Agency use the PowerOn system and our grant template to apply for foundation and state funding.  We also have research papers, demonstrations and technical assistance to help find the funds necessary for a successful implementation.

Profile Technical Assistance

PowerOn partners with Adelson Consulting and Internet Interventions to provide up-to-date guides and partnerships with major MSM hookup websites.  We help you setup your profiles, provide imagery and content..making you profiles standardized and well thought out.

Evaluation

PowerOn confidentially tracks and evaluates all of your user interactions.  Agencies comply with the CDC reporting guidelines for all types of grants. Our PowerOn team will help you figure out what reporting requirementsyou'll need to make.  Plus, our software gives your drill down ability into your counselingand referral sessiosn to see your impact and success rates over time.

History

Developed by the University of Washington’s Social Work Department, PowerOn has been funded or supported by the National Institute of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. Initially developed in 2002 as a site explicitly for Seattle, the strength of its content, brand and imagery attracted interest for replication in other markets. Kansas City, Tacoma and Peoria joined the network, brining PowerOn to four sites in 2005-2007.
 
In 2008, PowerOn was transferred to npT Labs, LLC for a program and technology redesign and greater marketing and sales effort.
